It's been awhile since I've updated anything. It's been a long year trying to get things in order and trying to move ahead. I've been working here and there on the house. It's been slow but we've come a long way so far. Work is steady, not really busy but steady, thank goodness. The economy is definitely still down, but at least I'm able to keep going.

Still Pushing Forward...
Work seems to be picking up, thank goodness. I almost thought I'd have to close my doors but thanks to my determination getting in the way, we held out. We are finally going to start building soon. I have my corvet sold which will help pay for some of the lumber. We have the first and second floor almost within buying, still working on the 3rd floor framing package but I know we can do it.
My life long dream was building my own house and retire debt free. We have spent the last couple years trying to get there. We've had our ups and downs financially, but we almost have everthing paid off except for the mortgage of course and my wife's car which we only have one more year left. We're still trying to stay afloat and get the bills paid each month because work is still not what it use to be yet, but looking back, even though we're still struggling, we've come a long way. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to get a house built and finish up the one we're in to get it ready to sell but I'm sure we'll figure something out.
I have my first grandbaby and my DIL coming next month for a visit (Caydence) and I've not even seen the grandbaby yet except for pics. She'll be 8 months by then. We saved up extra money to pay for the plane flight here and someone gave us a car seat and play pin for her to use the couple days she'll be here. My wife's fixing up the back room. I can't wait to spoil her.
Well, have to get back to carpentry here at the house and get some bids done. I wish everyone well and will keep you up on where we are in building our own house along the way. God willing, we'll some day see the completion of it. I'm sure we'll have a lot of hurdles along the way, but it's not like I haven't had to climb a few hurdles before in my lifetime. Wish us luck!

Buddy's all better---YEAH
Buddy, our new dog we adopted, made it thru his heartworm injections and went for a checkup. He's clean YEAH! I just couldn't take him back to the pound to have him put down and the medication was really expensive, but he's a happy healthy doggie now.
Then the week of the ice storm our furnace broke, got that fixed. Then was out of work for the first time in 20 years for a short while. My wife needs knee surgery now so we're working on that. But you know what, I'm a happy camper. I have a wonderful family I love that loves me and no matter what happens, we will always pick ourselves up and move forward. I really love my family. Always let your family know you love them each and every day no matter how bad things get. If you can do that, it won't feel so bad going thru things. By yourself you run out of energy, together as a family, everyone pitches in on the energy and things keep moving forward.

Sweet Potatoes Pies
Baked 6 more sweet potatoes pies yesterday. That makes about 24 all together this year. Will be handing out the remaining 5 tomorrow to clients. My wife swiped one. Stoking the fireplace up and sitting back to relax now. Enjoy everyone in the Chads Lake Subdivision. Never know where my next stop might be.
